Default Sold - 10/8/06 - 318/360 Magnum - non EGR modified barrel intake

I have a modified barrel intake that is taking up room in my tool shed. I bought it for $200 on e-bay and then decided that I was going to save up for a Fastman M1 intake. Only asking $100 and it is available for local Minneapolis pickup or you pay shipping. It needs a little cleaning as I did run it for a short while. I will do some more cleanup to it before letting it go.

Yes I still have it. Nothing has been modified on the outside, but when you look at pictures 4 and 5 you can see that all of the intake runners have been shortened and the center divieder has been greatly reduced. You can go to this forum link https://dodgeforum.com/m_552473/tm.htm and see some pictures another member placed there.

It should fit your 98 5.2 as the intake is the same for both the 5.9 and 5.2. Look at the outside pictures I have on the posting and see how your intake connections match up. I am adding one addiitonal picture in this reply and that is of the back of the intake.

well i am very interested. Was it done by someone who knew what they were doing, or somebody who thought they did and happened to own a dremel. The reason I have seen several "modiefied" intakes that where a little ugly to say the least. I dont know anything about modifying intakes, what are the benefits of shortening the runners and such. This is for my daily driver, so i dont want my gas mileage or drivability to got o hell. Thanks much.

The modifications were done by a company called Magnum Performance Products out of Seabrook, SC. Here is the link to his e-bay feedback page and you can see what others have said about his work. http://feedback.ebay.com/ebaymotors/...ducts&frm=1728

The reason for shortening the intakes and opening the runners is to improve air flow into the cylinders. Air, not gas is what creates horsepower, so by improving the airflow you are improving the potential horsepower gains of any other mods you have or are going to make ( CAI, Fastman Throttle body, headers, high flow cat, cat-back exhaust.
