original harness ground.but thats getting all replaced and hard wired now.

well, looks to be a ground problem all along. replaced the ground, and took it under the hood to a bolt. tried it after that and all seems good. i removed all the harness garb. and solid wired everything. so far so good. i'll have to go for a cruise to see how it works.
thanks for the help guys.

forgot this, what causes the lites to pulse in the deck now? not another wiring thing is it?

If your lights are pulsing then I believe your getting inconsistent voltage because all the extra electrical equipment is putting excess strain on your car battery. What you need (if you don't already have one, in which case I recommend getting an extra one) is a capacitor. I'd probably go with a 1-2 Farad Capacitor and have it wired in with your system that way it helps maintain a constant voltage. Someone might need to double check me on this though.

hmm, more gadgets to wire in.
i was thinking maybe battery to body ground or is that way off?

I didn't see what amp your running, but i would guess you are not even coming close to pulling more current than your alt can provide. If your HU is dimming on you then something is most likely hooked up incorrectly or loose. A capacitor would not seem appropiate for your setup.
