I have a question.... Im sure yall have heard this question a thousand times but..... I have just recently bought an 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Long Bed 5.7L Hemi Laramie w/ The Infinity audio system... Well i just bought an aftermarket CD Deck and noticed that the Stock wiring harness they provided me only has wires for 4 speakers and well i have put 2 and 2 together and well figured out this was not going to work......so i called around to several places and well they came up with a few things........ (1) Completly re wire the system.......(2) Rewire the amp wires or completely disable the amp.......(3) One certain place descibed there was a certain Wire Harness for Premium Sound System......(4) I heard rumor of a wiring harness that works both with the Infinity audio system and the Steering Wheel controls..... what do yall think??? any advice is help full..... Oh and by the way once again the Dodge Dealerships that i have called ahve no clue about what i a,m talkin about so no luck there........again any help is good help.....my ideal situation would be to find the premium sound system harness that works with the Steering Wheel controls.....hopefully this is not a myth..... Thanks to everyone that helps!!!!!

The can-bus infinity systems suck....I havent worked on one and they seem confusing from reading everything....two ppl never say the same thing. From how I take it, you can add a radio to the non-infinity you jst have to grab acc from somewhere else for the radio. But with the infinity I dont think there is a remote turn on behind the radio for the factory amp, so idk how it gets powered on. Hopefully rt or troy might pop in here and give some more info......cuz I really have no experience with these.

There may be some things available now but Crutchfields may be your best option. I have a 2005 Dakota with the Infinity system. Crutchfields provided the factory amp bypass when I bought my Kenwood headunit from them. You will also lose the steering wheel controls unless you buy an aftermarket control module. The module works off the HU remote. Personally I wouldn't bother as usually only certain controls will work. Not all. Hit your accessory hot on the back of the cigarette lighter which should be below the radio.
Good luck with the install.

Here is a link for ya for the install parts for your vehicle.
http://www.bestkits.com/SearchResult...002%20-%202005

Notice how it says Infinity radio must be relocated.

Here is a link for the picture of the Amp Bypass harness adapter

You need BHA6510 probably a special order part from any stereo shop, M.S.R.P. = $75
Try BestBuy or the like for ordering it for you.

You will also need an antenna adapter BAA20

Good Luck,
