Hi, ive never had a car alarm before, and wanted to put one in. I dont have automatic door locks, is that a prob? What should i look for in terms of an alarm?

The reason I want to get one is that my car was broken into last night.

Do alarms work if someone opens my door? or how?

I dont want to spend too much (under $60 US) what should i get?

 

Yes they go off if its armed and the doors are opened. 60 aint gona get ya much.....especially if you have it installed and I reccomened you do.

 

why would i have someone else install it? is it difficult?

 

To get the proper wires attached correcty is fairly difficult and time consuming unless someone on the neon forum was nice and posted the correct wire connections and locations

 

You will need a solder gun, solder,wire stripers,a mutli meter, tape and zip ties to do the install.

My car was AGAIN broken into last night, except this night they busted my drivers side window.... GREAT!

 

Looks like you need a good alarm with glass break censor.
