Does anybody have a Creative ZEN V Plus 8 GB MP3 player. I'm looking into buying one so I can hook it up to my Pioneer 6900 in my truck. It's $185 at Crutchfield. Anybody have any input on it?

 

you are much better off getting the Ipod Nano... Much more user friendly and if you have an Ipod with an I-BUS connection it can interface with it much easier. I dont know how old that 6900 is but it might have the Ibus in it... I believe my Mother has the 2Gb version of the Zen... she likes it but never uses it because it has a short battery life and wont use it in her car.

 

What about a 30 GB Zune? I just found one at Wal-Mart for about the same price. Are they any good?

 

I have a 30 GB Creative Labs ZEN M...i believe...one badd *** toy ;-), mp3+ mp4, picture storage....etc really awesome...short life when playing vids tho...incredible life when playing just mp3s tho :-P, i have hooked up to my truck's audio system :P

 

The creative zens DO NOT WORK with the pioneer 6900 if you are looking for an mp3 player for your pioneer 6900 then get an ipod for your own sanity. Unfortunately I bought the head unit just so I could play my creative zen vision m and I was very disappointed that ot doesnt work. The USB interface on the 6900 only plays Ipods or FAT32 fornatted players or hardrives. I didnt want to jump on the Ipods wagon either but I'm wishing I had because its just more compatible with things. Good Luck!

 

I've got a 5000 series Eclipse deck..that has a audio line in to plug right into the jack of any mp3 player/ laptop that can put audio out..
It works really great ...
I dunno about the alpine/pioneer decks tho...
