Well taking the truck up for its first Competition.... Im not expecting to win or even really place... I just want to get a real feel for what my system is outputing... Plus the way that I have my box built (i.e location) is not going to help with throwing some realy sound at the dash...

Oh well... Anyway i'll be running 800w at 2 ohms on my Hifonics Brutus 1600w amp and pushing my Eclipse 6000 seriese subs... YEA they are more of an entry level sub and more SQ oriented but they see more than RMS currently and also have lots of space to get loud. Other than that ill post the score when i get back later today... Wish me luck so i dont blow it in Bass Race... Im sure ill be fine in DB Drag though.

 

Ok im back: 5PM Here in CT... Long event... About 20 cars there... I did decent for my first time...
132.2 in DBDrag... prolly could have gotten up to 133 but what ev...
127.4 in Bass Race. I did alright there tool
Both in 4th place...

I was the only person not running ported and less than 600w to each sub but still my system is more Sq than SPL anyway...

Maybe next time ill run My SX12 at 1600w

Anyway it was a good time...

There was some dude with a mitsubishi Montaro who posted a 163.7 with 2 18" T-3's and shattered his windshield and shards of glass were spitting out ... which was pretty damn cool!

For a SQ system, that is excellent. Just loud enough to keep your ears ringing!

 

I competed at T-Rex Car Audio Shop in Stratford CT... I definitely didnt have the loudest truck there, but i got a few props from the shop guys on how nice it sounded... So im happy with that... And hopefully i will be building a box for my 12"sx that will actuall fit in my truck... definitely going to port it and send 1600w of juice

 

That SX could be doing 145ish in a decent install. . I got a buddy with 1 15" sx doing 146 in a suv.

 

I think i can hit some decent numbers with it but i def have to be careful with it... Its definitely broken in but i think im going to have to tune that box high like 46 hz and throw all i got at it. I figure 1600w will be enough but not enough to hit 146 db though

 

Nahhhh tune it low, 32-33hz ish . It'll take 1600 watts no problems too just make sure it's clean.

 

Oh no i know it will take 1600w without even breathing heavy but im saying that i doubt ill get up there without more power than that! If all goes according to plan over the winter I'll be making 3 new alterations to my truck...
