BEst speakers
which speaker company makes the best after market speakers excluding sub. i talking about teh best 6x9 speakers, and the best door speakers. im not looking for model as much as just a brand name to look for. thank you
I have Infinitys all the way around in my Grand am. Clean sound. But as far as Best of Best. The problem is theres a lot of brands that have different levels of there product. Like Polk, Boston, Infinity. They have there base model sets and their Pro Sets. The best thing to do is go listen to all of them ina store. Listen for a few songs. Type of music also plays a role in what people think are best. It all comes down to a matter of opinon. I like Infinty. I listen to mostly, post grunge, rock, etc.. But i also listen to rap and wife likes country. All sound great on the Infinitys.
I myself have always been drawn to and prefered everything Alpine, but they tend to be fairly expensive. In fact I just finally got around to installing my Alpine CDA-7863 head unit into my SRT-4, I don't know why since I hardly ever listen to any music in my SRT-4, usually I just listen to my SRT-4's natural music from the exhaust, CAI, turbo and BOV.

But I do love my Alpine and it sounds great in there too, now if I can get back to listening to my CD's.

I had infinity's in my other car, I liked them alot. Very clean sound. But like millenium said go to the store and listen for yourself, you know what kind of music you listen to so you should choose accordingly.

They will definitely be better than your stock speakers, they put out decent bass. But there might be something else that is a little better if you just want bass. I'm not a speaker guru by any means, its what I had in my old car, had good overall sound (very balanced).
i listen to everything in my truck that has the infinity perfect series, they hit reletively nice considering they aren't subs, your best bet is to go to a showroom and have them show you what different things sound like. if you want bass though i personally would suggest infinity speakers and a sub to handle the lows because if you make your door speakers take all the lows and you turn them way up thats how you blow speakers.
although stock decks will still eat speakers up with the bass up. since you can't tell them to funnel the bass through to the sub and not rely on the door speakers to do it which is how i blew out my stock speakers.
it all depends on how "all out" you want to go on your system, a complete replacement and the ideal would be replacing the door speakers, adding a sub, an amp to power it and a new deck with sub out so the bass is just provided by the sub and you aren't pushing the door speakers as hard as you can. of course that is going to be pricy
of course the replacement of the door speakers should help a lot with the sound in your car. you can't really expect the door speakers to hit like subs. they can hit, but i doubt its gonna make your rear view mirror shake, for that you need subs

Speakers are subjective. What sounds great to you may sound like crap to me. For example many people love MB Quarts - I don't care for them. I prefer Bostons over MB Quarts. I also like Eclipse, Phoenix Gold and a number of other brands. Most will sound different with varying amount of power applied as well. If your ears like what you are hearing, then they are good speakers.
