Panasonic DVD player NO SOUND, Please help!
I am new to the Dodge Ram world and these forums. I just bought an 04 Quad Cab 1500. I have mt panasonic flip-out from my last vehicle and thought I had it wired correctly. I get power with no problem but am not getting any sounds. I originally used push-in wire connectors but have since switched to wirenuts to connect my factory wiring to the wiring harness. I know it is not a bad harness, because I bought a second one and still the same problem, plenty of power and no sound. HAHA Any advice would be great. I am not sure how this forum works so if you can, please send me info to mtickle4@yahoo.com
Thanks a million and God bless,
Matt

Yes, I sure do. I also have XM radio hooked up but no subscription. This was just an extra that was already in the truck when I got it. I do not need it but there were so many wires that I was afraid to unhook it. It system is not all that powerful but it does have the infinity badges on the panel beside windows. Thanks so much for the fast reply. I saw where you had given some great info to people before and was hoping you might by chance see my post. Thanks, Matt
You must hook the remote amp wire on the new headunit, to the BLUE wire on your adapter harness. The remote wire on the headunit is usually Blue with a white stripe. Sometimes it's just Blue though. It should be labeled. Make sure it isn't the power antenna wire, or youll only get sound when the radio is on and not with CD/DVD.
The reason you need to hook this wire up is because this turn on the Infinity amp in the truck. If the amp doesnt turn on you get no sound.
Any other questions just let us know

I'm going to try that tomorrow when it's light out. I think I tried that after talking to Panasonic "Technical Support". They had no idea other than what the computer tells them. HAHA Thanks so much!
I am planning on doing this on my break today. I looked and saw how I had things wired up. The first harness I had used both a power antenna wire and a amp wire. The one that is currently on it uses only an amp turn on. I had originally, on this one, tied both the amp cut on and the power antenna coming from the head unit to the one wire coming off the harness for the amp. I have taken off the antenna wire and will run strictly the amp cut on. Maybe that will work. Thanks again for the aadvice already given and for any other ideas in case this doesn't work!!
Oh wait a minute! I just saw you had an 04. This has been an active topic here lately, witht he Infinity systems int he 04 you must bypass the factory infinity amp to get sound. [:'(] Sorry.
You have to run speaker wires from the headunit over to behind the glovebox where the factory amplifier is located. Then unhook the amplifier and splice into the wires that lead from the amp to the speakers int he truck. Only way to make it work on your 04 Ram. Sorry.
