Default Aftermarket power amp cable

I have a 97 intrepid and I want to put an aftermarket amp in the trunk. Can anyone tell me of a fairly easy method of getting the power cable from the battery to the trunk? It doesnt' look like there is anywhere I can go through the firewall, so I was thinking of running it under the car and drilling a whole in the back of the car somewhere to feed the cable in. If anyone has run an amp power wire in one of these before, please tell me what you did. Also, has anyone ever put speakers in the rear doors of one of these cars? There isn't enough room for the six inch speakers that I have, so if anyone can tell me what size they used if they did it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, as I see that no one knew the answer to this one, I'll tell you what I figured out on my own. The shifter cable grommet is right beside the power brake booster, so I poked a hole in the grommet and pulled the wire through there. Worked like a charm. As far as the door speakers, I didn't bother.

Try following the wire harness, it was really easy in my dodge, my s10 was another story, i had to follow the wire harness, in some cases you have to drill through the firewall, but i doubt it.

I know it's been awhile since you posted this but yesterday i had the same problem as you with my 1993 Intrepid and the shifter cable boot looks like the best place to run the wire!

For anyone looking at this thread for tips, NEVER RUN A WIRE UNDERNEATH THE CAR. that's a sure fire way for the power wire to be shreaded within a few weeks.

I know an sq competitor that has his wire run under the f-150. It's been like that for several years and has been through several deer seasons. It's all about protection. His is run through pvc with several layers of protection over that. The judges for usaci, meca, and iasca seem to think it's safe.

I personally prefer to go under the carpet myself just like 99% of everyone else.
