does anyone know of a sub and box that deliver a lot of bass i want to put them under the rear seats in a qc but have heard bad things about the preforms and i want to keepm a stock look, i have kids so they need to be hidden, so when im at work i can bump lol

I use to have 8" mtx road thunders that fit behind the back seat of my old 95 chevy, but I never tried anything in the dodge.

 

the preforms work well...the new alpine type s subs are quite shallow so those would work well with the preform enclosures. also make sure you put polyfill in the box before you install the sub in the enclosure (Poly-Fil stuffing slows down sound waves inside the box, making the subwoofer perform as if the box were bigger. Use 1 to 1-1/2 pounds of Poly-Fil per cubic foot of box volume) What type and how powerful an amp is just as if not more important than the sub to get good bass. Figure on at least 250 to 350 watts per sub to get it to thump. The new jl audio 700/1 is small and powerful and would make two 10 inch subs bump and the amp is quite small. jl originally rated it at 600 watts...but when it went out to be independently tested itkept making 700 watts so they had to remake all the literature to reflect the new wattage

 

Check out foxacoustics.com They have some really nice preformed boxes. I would recommend getting a ten inch ported/vented box. Those help regain some of the low end bass you loose due to small airspace. If you go sealed the you really need to do the polyfill, it makes a world of difference.

I know you said you need to keep it hidden but for less money this box is pretty easy to take out when you have quick disconnects on the power wires and a switch on the amp. This thing hits hard enough to keep my rear view from staying up. It always shakes its way down. Heres a clip.

I've got 2 10 inch PIONEER premeirs in my QC, they hit pretty hard under my back seat. I also had enough room to shove an amp on top of the box and a Capacitor as well. I will have to get pics of it tomorrow.
