Default poked hole in my sub

Well, i've managed to poke a hole in one of my 10 inch subwoofers.[:@] I accidently dropped part of the amp cover on it while i was tweaking with my system. It doesn't matter much really because the subs weren't expensive to begin with. They are just something to get me by until i can get something bigger. Is there anyway to possibly fix the "slit"? It's not really a hole more like a slit about 1/4-1/2 inch long.
Thanks

I'm not sure what type of cone it is-they are lightning audio bolt subs i think(I know lightning audio isn't the best). I bought them at best buy. I will look into the tape though. Thanks

If they are paper type, you can use the black silicon sealant. Then duct tape just bigger than the rip. Sort of a flexible redneck fibergalssing, hahah. All of this I used to do on the backside to hide the damage. If you just use tape and play the subs hard, I have the tape fall off and then watch the speaker shred. The things that bored minds used to do hahaha.

I have used a piece of construction paper with black silicone on the inside of the cone. It worked great.

Clear nailpolish works great for small nicks.
