Default Dodge DVD

Hopefully someone out there can help me. I have a 2005 Grand Caravan SE that I bought used. It came with the base RBK radio (AM/FM CD with the CD changer controls) and a single disc DVD player. I think they called it the "Low Cost" Entertainment package. It's low cost because the radio does not support rear audio, so if I want to listen to the radio while the kids watch a DVD, I can't. I managed to get my hands on an RBU radio with the rear audio function and get it installed into my car. I had to switch remotes from the newer Koss style to the older Alpine and now I have rear audio, but I can only listen to the radio over the headsets (haven't tested the CD yet). The DVD player will still only play over the radio. I can cycle the radio through to the DVD function via the remote, but have no way of getting the power on the DVD player to turn on, unless it is running through the speakers in the car. So unless I hit the mode button and get the DVD player to turn on through the radio, the kids can't watch a DVD. Since it is illegal for me to wear headsets while driving, I need to figure a way to get the DVD audio to the headsets while I listen to the radio over the system speakers. I read somewhere that in order to use the rear audio you need to get the dealer to "program" the radio to handle the rear audio??? Any help would be appreciated.

Not 100% sure, but it sound like whoever wired the system, did it backwards. You should be able to reverse the rca's or somethin so the DVD is throught the headphones and the radio the speakers.
