How would I go about bypassing the dvd safty issue on the REN. I would like to be able to play a video on my ren. Going on a tri and the wife and daughter would like abit more to do than listen to the sat.

I installed my REN using an adapter from Coastal Electronics Technologies which also includes their Lockpick product, unlocks everything, it works very well. Here's a link: http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm

 

There are several aftermarket products that will let you bypass the in-motion video lockout.

MyGIG Lockpick

Additionally, there are some versions of MyGIG that have a "bug" that allows you to bypass the lockout with the right combination of button presses. Do a Google search for more information. I believe there is at least one YouTube video on this.
