Mopar/kicker question?

Silverbullet - Does the sub hang down from there? might just be the picture, but it doesn't look like there is enough room to mount one inside there and have it facing down. Different looking box than anything I've seen so far, I like the idea and am interested. Would like more information. Do you happen to have a pic with a sub installed by any chance? THANKS!

Ehhh thats kinda pricey to me and the power rating seem on the low side??
I have nailed my options down.
I am going with this box

This Sub

I already have a pioneer 800 watt 2ohm stable mono amp. The airspace will be about .10 shy, but im going to pollyfill the box to compensate for the difference.
So ill be running 1 10' sub at 800 max 400rms on a 800 watt amp at 2ohms
in a sealed box. It should really hit.
$80 (box)
$82 (sub)
$20 (lineoutconverter)
$40 (amp wire kit)
$10 (pollyfill)
total = $235
Seems like a better investment. More power and better product at less cost.

Now, if your looking to get a pre made enclosure and only spend as little as possible, your sub will sound like sh*t. You get what you pay for in the audio world!
There's a diff between 400wrms of Kicker Comp power and 400wrms of nice sounding power. Kicker comps can't withstand 400rms all day long especially in a sealed enclosure and one that's smaller than reccomended. Polyfill isn't going to cool down the voice coils any more. Also, the pioneer amp, is a mild start to any clean power. I have had the exact amp in the 730w older version. It did okay, but got really hot on 2ohm load and only produced about half the power it stated which is very common among Walmart amps.
The package you put together, meaning amp/sub is a good combo for each other as both are over rated for power output and will be suited up well together. I just think that you'll be disappointed with the overall sound quality and quantity that is produced. I think you'd be better off buying 1 very nice subwoofer, or 2 of those kicker comps. Even if you use that Pioneer amp, it will power 2 of those kickers. I think you'll find yourself turning the power output on that amp down for just one sub due to heavily increased distortion out of that cone.
Any stereo shop can and will build a custom sub enclosure to accommodate a larger magnet for a very nice subwoofer for about $200. then you have to buy the sub. I think you would be very satisfied with the sound quality and output for the little extra out of pocket money spent. We're talking about another $150 here. If not, you'll be spending much more money in the long run and find yourself running in circles.
I'm only trying to save you the headache and disappointment. I have been around audio my whole life and understand every aspect of it. I'm not trying to steer you towards what I have in my truck, but just something that I would be happy with on your budget. Start with a descent box and sub and then when you get the money work on getting a nice amplifier, but that Pioneer is suitable for now. Clean power is the best sound output alive and will make even a so-so sub sound very good.

i agree with dirtydog. its better to go "all out" bc you will end up having to replace the sub. when i got my first system installed it was about 600 at cartoys. this included sub amp box labor and warranty. i wish i did more research but i was 16 and impatient lol i like the box that was made and it sounds really good. the mtx 4500 was good for a little bit but i wasnt really impressed and it blew in less than 2 years. so i did research this time and settled on the jl audio w3. very impressed with this sub. hits highs and lows very well. i would recommend it.
