Default adding double din nav to 05 dodge ram w/ infinity amp??

Hey guys,
Im looking to upgrade my existing stereo to a double din touch screen with navigation. I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 Laramie with infinity system and infinity amp..also steering wheel controls. I have read a bit and looks like it isnt as easy as I thought. Is there a plug and play adapter which will allow the factory infinity amp to still work, as well as the steering wheel controls....believe the infinity amp turnon is canbus controled and not a hotwire? not completely up on what is required....any help would be great.
tks,

I don't think that the 05 is CANBUS, you'll find that mostly in the newer trucks and cars (charger, 300, etc) and yes there is a factory adapter for your truck. You'll need a dash kit that accepts a DD unit, harness adapter and a chrysler antenna adpater. Infinity amps are pretty much the easiest amps ever to integrate with, and your truck is a cake walk when it comes to disassembly and integration. If you're not comfortable with doing it yourself, take your truck to a quality shop. Should take between 1-1.5hrs for the install.

Nice info! Does anyone know if I can put a DD receiver in a 97 Dakota. My infinity factory radio finally decided to take a crap on me and now I want to put something in it that'll fill that big gap that is found in trucks around the same year. I would just put a single DIN and be done, but I hate having that cheap a$$ plastic fillling majority of that hole. The truck originally has an infinity sound system with a cd/tape and EQ 1 1/2 DIN receiver. If it's possible to fit a Double DIN, would anybody have any idea how to do it. I can do the install but I don't want to hack the inside of the dash too much. I know I'll have to modify the bezel which is no problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!
