Default Kicker update

I am considering updating and adding a kicker amp and speaker set that comes either from the dealer or other places. Well you know how when you add certain items like uconnect for one do I have to have the amp and speakers starscanned into the truck....like I had to for my uconnect module and REN radio. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know anything about it... I'd be curious to see, and hear how well the 'mopar' kicker amp and sub works, and installs...

If its just a kicker and another speaker I am going to guess you wont need to change anything else, you should be fine. Your dealer should know. Good luck.

Kicker is the manufacturer... I'm interested in a Kicker subwoofer, and a Kicker amp, that 'mopar' sells... but, I've never heard of anyone upgrading...

There are a number of aftermarket sub/speaker threads moved here from 3rd gen in this section that might help you out.
The kicker plug'n'play stuff is rather expensive. It's only a MILD upgrade. Very convenient though.
It's sold on Ebay but is still $600+

Check your local audio shop for a custom aftermarket amp install to your stock HU. You'll need a bass restorer to do it properly. You can get THIS one, but there ar others on their site like kicker ..haha for $29 You want to look for sound Processors, or Bass restorers. Adding a sub will NEVER sound good when added to a stock deck unles you add a restorer. Stock deck flattens out treble and reduces bass as you raise volume to save speaker sound.
