MIC Placement ?
I am in the process of installing a AVIC-Z110BT in my 08 Ram and was wondering where you folks install your Mics for your nav installs ?
I plan to put a write up after i am done for everyone. Just would like some suggestions.
Thanks
Pete

There are a number of places that you can go to for your Bluetooth mic. The 3 primary locations that I do (provided that I'm not flush mounting it in the dash) are;
1.) Along the headliner using the S-shaped clip that comes with the mic
2.) On the steering column shroud using the S-shaped clip and double sided adhesive that come with the mic
or, my personal favorite simply because of how clean it looks
3.) On the rear view mirror. Take a black zip tie and run the cable along the wiring for the rear view mirror. The mic and antenna blend in beautifully with the black wire and shroud. You can only do this on vehicles where the mirror has wires or a black plastic backing, otherwise it looks tacky.
Ideally, the mic should be placed within 2-3 feet of the user, which makes the rear view mirror location ideal since it allows both driver and passenger to use the bluetooth without having to shout or overcome induced road and wind noise.
