infinity sound system....
ok guys my 06 ram has the infinity sound system, Im wondering if i should have asub or not. I dont seam to but i hear that i should. What the deal?
if you do have a sub its under the rear seat and is a factory infiniti but most likely you are hearing the front components speakers, the 6x9's in the doors are actually mid bass or mini subs and the tweeters are in the dash.
yah it sounds like the 6x9 are what they installed for subs and the amps are attached to them. So could i install a crossover between the amps and the 6x9's and the run the the line converter off the wires between the factory amp and speaker so i can get more base. Because right now f i turn the stereo up i get distortion coming for the 6x9.
best bet is to either leave stock or to redo the whole thing, if you buy an amp there is a hi pass input that you tap into the rear door speakers and it deletes the rca's. Then you can turn the bass down on the speakers. basically, the stock setup is designed so you cant tamper with it.
The ONLY type speaker that can accurately play and Handel the low Bass frequencies is a subwoofer in a proper enclosure
Even upgraded expensive replacement 6x9s can not handle real Bass
You can filter out the bass with some bass-blockers (199mf capacitor) on the 6x9s
Some aftermarket Stereos have a Hi-pass over setting for the front & rear speakers
Then add an amplifier and sub for the real Bass
