Default subwoofer installl question.

I see a lot of you with the QC are installing a box under the rear seat for your subs, which looks smokin clean in my opinion.

I would like to do this also, BUT! My back seat has the fold out metal floor, which sits flush under the seat against the floor compartment. Any of you have the same thing and make that work for the sub box still?

I've been searching, but all the installs I've found so far don't have the metal fold out.

You simply unbolt them.

Here's my thread on a stock head unit install

Great thread, great read. Thanks. But to be honest, I didn't see anything about the floor panels I'm talking about.
I don't want to lose them if possible.

They'll have to go. There's barely enough room to provide a proper amount of "airspace" for a sub enclosure that fits under the seat. Most guys end up lifting the rear seat to allow for more box space.
Whether you go with a single or dual enclosure, one or both would have to go.
i know it's a great idea and a fancy folding floor, but how often do you really use it?
Stuff that size i stick in the bed.

In your sig....JL12w6...??? Where???

Dayum, I ain't never seen such a contraption, haha. Learn sum'n new everyday. That W6 should pound if decently setup. To do so, Id imagine, as said, that all that other "stuff" would have to go. If you don't wanna make that sacrifrice, the only other option would be some 6x9's with an amp pushing'em.

i got thoses metal things and i love'em too there great makes the floor totaly flat, you could consider getting the sub that replaces the middle front seat like this http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgur...a%3DG%26um%3D1

Yeah that was a little uncalled for so i deleted it.

Without some serious custom fabrication I don't see any way a w6 would fit. From what i remember those things are pretty huge. I have shallow mounts in mine, and a If you don't care about taking up a seat you can always just put a box on top of the seat, or take the entire seat out. This is all theory, but for the most part you'll need a shallow mount sub or a smaller full size.

IF you're getting a rear cab box. Learn from my and many other mistakes. Get a really good quality box that doesn't suffocate your sub. Some plastic boxes have porting in between the 2 subs to allow more airspace.
