subwoofer installl question.
I had the dual sub box under the seat, but got tired of throwing things on the seat and wanted the floors back, so I got rid of my box, but now I am planning n building a single sub box that fits in the storage space under the driver side rear seat, so that my passenger side fold-flat floor will still be useable.
Yea, guess you are right...most likely I would never use the floor pieces.
So I guess that they will come out.
As for the 12W6, it's the older chassis and only has a 5.625" mounting depth vs the 7.6" of the new version. I would think that it would fit....correction, I hope and pray that it does.
I would rather push a 10 in this truck, being that it would probably be more than enough. But I already have the 12, c'est la vie

The number ONE factor in Bass is Space
Big space equals big Bass
Small space equals small Bass
And that just Science
Smaller and/or fewer subwoofers Outperforms Larger and/or More subwoofers done Wrong
The available space under the seat of the Ram Trucks is very limited
Not enough space for 12” subs, the space is even small for good performance from 10” subs
The second situation; subwoofers are Not a near field type speakers
Subwoofers require distance between the speaker and the listener to develop the Bass frequency properly
The distance from under the rear seat to your head in the front seats is only about three feet
A very small sub could be fabed under the metal platforms but the output would be so low due to the lack of space would not be worth the work and expenses
The metal platforms would also vibrate and rattle from the Bass
