I'm sure this is asked a lot, and I heard there was a guy here that did the swap and made a thread about it, but I can't seem to find it.

My buddy has a 2004 1500 and is wanting to get a Nav unit to put in, but he really doesnt want to pay the $160 that the guy on ebay is charging for the bezel. Is there another way to get the double din to fit?

 

i know weedahoe did it, look him up i think he has pictures other than custom making it the only option i have seen is that one guy that sells them

 

I'm all for custom making one. I love doing custom work.

 

If your up to makin a custom one, look at Weedahoe's sig and he has a ton of pics of his custom fabbed one. I know he offered to make one for a guy the other day who was asking, he was gonna charge like half of the ebay kit price. Wouldn't hurt to send him a pm and ask him a little bit about it.

 

Yep, not hard to do if you are patient and good with your hands. You will also have to cut out the top part of the hole where the radio will go. It tapers down in the back and you will need to cut the "roof" out to make room. Dont worry, there are no wires or anything up there.
