Tech specs on part p05091507AD
I bought this replacement radio for my 2002 RAM.. Was a quick impulse buy (and cheap BTW) on ebay... Was listed as coming out of a 2002 RAM.
Now a few problems 1)This is not important to the discussion but if people ship radios via UPS do not use just newspaper... The "drop shipment" busted the volume **** (hopefully that's it I have yet to check it).
2)Here's the fun parts:
Was listed as coming out of a 2002 RAM w/ the "infinity" system, which I do not have so that may be an issue BUT what I really would like to know is
A) What does the R-D-S stand for? also rbq?
B) Why does it say 6 disc changer? I can't believe it's in this body (maybe like my orig 2002 that had "cd controls for a changer)
C)Date code is 2294 1643 but there is a side panel sticker that has a bar code, date and time and the date that says:
8/16/2004, which would make it unlikely ? to come out of a 2002...
D)internal or external amp??? Has a heat sink on the side but unlikely it cools anything. Also has a fan hole w/ no fan..
Before I tear into my dash (or re-list or buy different/more parts)I would appreciate all the info I can get.
Thanks
ACTUALLY now that I looked more into it he sent a completely different unit then was advertised....... grrr....
Mine has NO tape and of course a completely different part number...
Added note: The one sent looks like this:

RDS stands for "Radio Data Display" (RDS)

FOLLOWUP.
Seller mixed up 2 packages (one I got was from his Viper), which would be fine and actually if I could make all 3 happy, this one would work out for me.
Problem is the CD will not take a disc... I had my dash apart and decided to try it to see if there was any more UPS damage.
Unit wouldn't take a CD... is there any lock out feature or did UPS really screw this one up?
