I was looking to put 2 10" subs under my backseat (I have a Quad Cab), and I wanted to buy one of those specific enclosures thats designed for a Ram, to go under the seat. But heres my question. I know that when you fold up the back seat, theres that black plastic piece that you can pull out so that the rear seat is level, but when you put this kind of sub box in, do you have to remove that black plastic piece or does the plastic piece stay in and the box simply just takes up that "Secret-Compartment" space?

 

the fold flat floors have to come out. you can sell them for good money though on the forums.

 

I'm glad your doing your homework ahead of time but I would strongly urge you to reconsider two 10''. I've got one 10'' behind the driver seat and I've got it turned damn near all the way down and that alone has made my rear view mirror screw come out and its made the screw that holds the amp and the processor together come out twice so I finally had to take some super glue to it. If your not going for window shaking thumps one sub will be plenty for a clear, crisp, and pure sound.

 

Its all personal taste. Most people prefer 2 subs. Yes, 1 is ample to provide clean pure sound if you arent going crazy loud. But even if you like to crank the music (or over power the wind noise with your windows down) you'll probably want 2 subs.

I talked to the owner of probox today. He assured me that it will out slam any 12's or 10's you put it up against or my money back. Real nice guy, just from talking on the phone with him for 20 mins i feel like a learned 20 years worth of audio tech. Send him a contact and within 10-20 mins on the phone i'll bet money you buy one. Im buying one Thursday. And the good thing its only 400 watts, compared to 1000-2000 watts. I know friends that have 1 10" loaded probox enclosures and they slam harder than a L7 12".

And another thing I though more was better. Nope was I wrong. This guy has it down to formulas it's crazy to think about but its true.

 

I ended up buying the under seat enclosure. I'll just take out the black plastic piece and list it in the marketplace. I purchased 2 12" Kicker Subs so I should be set? If you're interested in the black plastic thing let me know..

 

probox's are nice but foxbox's are better. I had a Probox and sold it to get a Foxbox and it was a huge difference and much better.

 

Yea but was it a loaded probox? Or a probox with like a kicker or rockford, etc.

hey weed how does that sound? i just re-did my system and i have a single 10" audiobahn aw1005n powered by a power acoustics stax2000/1d and it hits hard, but just doesnt hit the lows like i want so i was planning on getting 2 12's and i was looking into the kicker cvr's or cvt's. how are they with the low deep bass? i had 2 15" orions in my old car and they were ridiculous and the 10 doesnt even compare.
