The System I Have...
joeyp, you cant hear it outside of the truck either because your truck is well insulated or because you dont have enough airspace for the sub. size will not fix that problem.
What type of 10's? Remember this also, the more "thump" you want, the longer the excursion on the sub needs to be. I don't think those under the seat units have much depth to them, do they?
well, i have the perfect amount of airspace under my rear bench seats for my subwoofers. i have 2 infinity kappa perfect 10.1's. yes, they are 10's. and fiberglass can get you all the airspace that you can possibly get from under the seat if it is done right.
in my 93 stealth es i have....
head - Alpine CDA 9843
Front - Infinity full component w/ crossovers
Rear - Infinity
Amp - Rockford fosgate p-3001 (1300w)
Subs - 2x Alpine Type - E 12"
Encolsure - Somewhat of custom with a 1ft port.
well to be basic. in the process of installing this system and testing. whenever i was bassing my neighbor came over, the guy next to him came over, the and the guy next to him (3 houses down). then my 2 neighbors on the other side of the street came over. then my city police came over and were threatening me with a noise polution ticket.. not only that but i tripped my mom's car alarm (2002 firebird) and my dads (2006 mustang gt) and knocked 2 pictures off the wall inside my living room.

In my old truck (2006 King Ranch F250 Fx4 powerstroke) I had 4 eclipse 5x7(cant remember name, just that they were 129 a pair) powered by a kicker 4x60 amp. Well that truck was totalled 2 weeks ago and I lost my daughter :-(. We saved 2 of the speakers and the amp, but they are just sitting in my garage. In my new truck (2500 Ram CTD 4x4 Laramie Mega Cab) I think i am just going to leave the Infiniti 7 speakers in there and worry about the subs. Looking at 1 or 2 memphis "M" class subs. I am excited because in this truck i actually have room to place a speaker box. What would be a good amp to power 1, and a good amp to power 2 of them. I have a person to do the install. Just need to worry about the subs.
Memphis stuff is very nice!! What are the specs on the m class you are lookin at?

Ok, I just finished installing new front door speakers (pold Audio db520), rear 6x9 (polk db690) and a Thunder 3404 amp, two 10" clif designs in custom under seat box and a sony xmd9001gtr 1300 watt amp to push the subs. The head unit is Eclipse AVN2454 double din touchscreen with nav, dvd and input capable of camera, playstation, or whatever. I removed the "pos" Infinity and WOW what a difference.
Actually, they aren't bad. They compare to visoniks, although a little harder hitting.I bought for $89.00 a pair. They are rated at 250rms and 500 max. The sony xplod amp pushes way more power than they can handle. I will probably upgrade in the future to jl audio 10w3. I would prefer 10w7, but they will not fit in the under seat box. But the Clif designs sound nice. They do not sound hollow like the mtx. They have a meaty thump, just right for rock.
