Default Hooking up in line adapter for aftermarket amp

"The Infinity amp has a crossover that splits the frequency so the dash speakers receive the highs and the front doors get the bass. "

I had been hooking into the front doors for my in line adapter. If one was hooking up an aftermarket MONO D class amp that is expecting low frequencying being sent to it, then they would want to hook into the FRONT speakers and not necessarily the rear speakers?

Also, I have seen two opposing posts that you can or cannot put in an aftermarket HU and expect the Infinity amp to still work in the 7 speaker infinity system. If you run a remote wire to the amp, it can be done? Please advise.

And has anyone tried to use the infrared aftermarket hook-up to keep their steering wheel controls? I can't find anything on that accessory about it working for an 04 Dodge Ram.

It doesn't matter if you hook into the front OR the rear ( I recommend Rear!). If you have an amplifier specifically for your subwoofer, use the lowpass filter on it, set it to around 60-80hz. This will allow ONLY the frequencies below it to pass to your speakers, in turn filtering out the high stuff subwoofers don't need.

You CAN hook up an aftermarket HU to a stock infinity system. I've done it numerous times, mostly in Jeep Grand Cherokees. Make sure you DO hook up the remote as noted. Get a wiring harness, and then match the color coded wires to the aftermarket CD player wiring harness.
