Default PAC C2R-CHY4 Can Bus Reverse Wire Question

The CAN BUS has a Green Reverse Output wire that is supposed to be connected to the stereos Reverse Gear wire (trigger wire). My question is; can I connect the camera's positive wire to the CAN BUS reverse wire too? Or do I need to connect it to the reverse lights directly. Seems to me that if the Can Bus has a reverse wire, that I should be able to connect this to the camera as well rather than running a seperate connect ot the actual reverse lights. Unless the Can Bus wire does not supply enough amperage or something.

Help!

For a back-up camera installation, you need to locate the white/lt green stripe wire between the battery and firewall. That is the reverse signal.(always check with a volt meter before tapping ANY wire) You MUST connect the power wire to CONSTANT 12v+ or you will have issue's with your camera working.

So if you have a Nav unit your hooking up, the NAV unit ties into the reverse wire and the camera itself ties into the 12v+ constant.

Thank you for the reply!

Should I connect to 12v constant or 12v accessary. I am just concerned that if I connect to 12v constant the camera will always be on draining the battery.
