Adding the Pioneer Avic-Z130bt, will the back up camera work....
Hey Guys Im new to the forum and I have a question. Im going to add the Pioneer Avic-A130bt to the Truck and a rear view camera. I like the look of the camera in the tailgate handle! Can anyone tell me if it will work with my new stereo? Crutchfield couldn't answer that and neither could my dealer!

This is what I did: remove the bed side panel on the taigate. from there you can acess the other side of the taigate handle. Drill about a 1" hole where the camera goes. The use a drimmel to grind the shape of the hole to better fit the camera, since the camera is nearly square. Pushe the camera out the hole from the inside of the tailgate. You want the camera to fit in the hole but still be a tiny bit snug. so grind a tiny bit and then check the fit a little at a time.
Then wire the camera up to your pioneer avic 130. Close the tailgate and adjust your camera so that it is in the correct position when viewed on the navigation screen.
Then take some epoxy (the kind in a saringe looking thing with 2 tubes that mix the epoxy and hardener when you push the plunger) glue it in place from inside the tailgate.
last take a little clear silicon and seal a small bead aroun the edge of the camera where it touches the tailgate handle and smooth the bead of silicone around the edge of the cam with your finger.
There may be some better ways but it worked great for me and if you do it right it will be a clean install. Here is a picture, it isn't great but you can see the camera on the tailgate handle.
Let me know and I will take some more pictures of the view from the navigation screen and a better close up picture of the camera mounted on the handle.
You can switch the views on the fly and you can also view while Driving forward if you want to keep an ey on your trailer.
Thank you all for your replies! Im getting the Z130BT with the Mopar rear view camera installed next thur. Im very Excited for this upgrade!!! Ill post pictures after I get it installed!
