Default Need help with sound...

...don't know S**T lol. Ask me about performance but speakers...and I don't want to get ripped off. Alright, i know how they work I just don't know what's the best kind out there and the prices. I'm looking for two aftermarket speakers to replace the ones in my doors. I just blew the passenger side so I'm replacing both. I think they are either 4 inch or 5 inch, and I'm also looking for the best fit. The dude at the speaker place told me there's no exact fit with an aftermarket speaker, which I believe and they would have to do some re-wiring, which I could do. What are the best kind of speakers out there for this and how much do you think it'll cost???

Thanks in advance.

Here is crutchfields Speaker finder.

crutchfield

start there and get the size of the speakers.

One thing to look for on the speakers that are currently there, what ohms are they? They used to use 10ohms awhile ago, but in the 05 magnum that i have, they put 4 ohm even in the base system. Most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm, radios dont like powering speakers that are lower than what they came with. If you have an aftermarket radio then no worries, it is designed for 4 ohms.

I used an 2003 neon in the site and it cam back with 5 1/4, 6 1/2 and 6 3/4. The 5 1/4 will work but probably need a adapter plate. I would go with 6 1/2". If i rememeber right, crutchfield will also send you the wiring adapters for the speakers.

Sup man
When they say they wont fit, they mean they wont fit using stock holes.
Most Cases all you have to do is drill new holes in the plastic to mount the speaker.
As for the speakers, An Alpine type s component set would work nicely.
What are you planning on spending?
They sell them for 120 shipped brand new off ebay.
