Default Subwoofer Enclosures

Hey, im looking to add a subwoofer to my system. I have a 2004 ram 1500 quad cab, Im looking at a single 10" enclosure for under the back seat. It looks pretty small so im a little concerned about sound quality. Has anyone tried anything similar to this? Ive never built a custom box but im considering doing my first for this enclosure, any input if it would sound better?

Here is the setup im looking at installing, and this is if i can even fit the type-r that i want into the box (The specs say it should work but who knows)

I am doing the same in a std cab 2003, i am seriously considering kenwoods dual sub woofer system w/ a built in 150 watt amp. its very small and would fit either under the seat or behind it. the plus is that you dont need to also waste space on the amp and these enclosures are probably better designed for tight spaces than a truck box w/ its limited air space.

Pre-built ebay box's are garbage! Your first box you ever build would be miles ahead of that ebay box!
Type-R..good middle of the road sub.
Alpine amp...same

I do have 2 subs and an amp if you were interested. I won't separate the subs, but the pair are cheaper than the single Type R. PM me for details

I am currently building a subwoofer box out of 13 ply birch that will replace my center console. The enclosure will be 2cu. ft. big and I will be using 2 Alpine Type R's.

I will be including a compartment on the top for my Alpine Imprint processor and a 2" PVC from the top to the bottom to pass the RCA's and power wiring.

Finally the finish will be leather and carpet.

That sounds like a nice project. If you're up to it, i would love to see some pics as you progress through building it. I would definately prefer to replace my console with a box if possible. Are you just doing the seat? Or are you also removing the flip-up storage compartment?

Also, just read a big review on the Imprint processor. Sounds pretty amazing, have you heard any systems that use this yet? Id really like to know how it works for ya. Thanks again
