Default SPL question...

Who all is/has metered their system for SPL?

I had mine metered last summer and hit 140.1 db, and I am curious to see what everyone else is hitting.

Thanks!!

my buddy installed a system in my RT. 2 MTX 12s, and some MTX amp that i guess they dont make anymore. 3600w. he used to compete with the same system in his sunfire, and hit 143.8, but he also friend speakers all the time. i have the amp turned down quite a bit. i might get it tested this summer

aren't subs rated to be at a specific size box to reach there highest SPL?

is that what your sub is rated at, ( 6cubic ft.) or is having a really big box going to give you a higher SPL reading?

just curious![sm=smiley15.gif]

You can build a custom ported box

Sorry I donot know how to quote yet but this is in answer to Durango 666. You are correct that is what the sub is rated for to hit high SPL with a 230 cubic inch port. But, it is rated for half that size for tuner set up as in sound Quality with out a port. You would have to read the specs. Not all Woofers com with specs and you have to expieriment with ports to find what you like and at what hz you are shooting for.
