Default 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Infinity Speaker Blown?

Ok guys,

Bear with me while I dumb this down, but I am so confused. With Christmas time approaching, I wanted to get my husband new front speakers for his Truck (2008 dodge ram 1500 quad cab), he elected for the Infinity package when he bought it and has had the front speaker replaced twice (not sure if has been the same speaker twice). Anyway, I don't want to buy him a new pair of speakers if there is something internally wrong. I know nothing about watts, or whatever ohms is. I googled the speaker size and believe it is 6x9s. Also, if you have had any problems with this what caused it? We had the manufacturer replace the speakers both times, I think this time we are going to attempt it. Before I buy the speakers wer are going to CAVS to have the wattage compared to the other speakers to see if it's pushing out unevenly and causing it to blow. Also, any speaker suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated , as I know NOTHING about this stuff. Oh and Dodge has a Stealth? That sounds cute.

Thanks!
Kimberly

Wattage in your case likely wont matter because even though the Infinity system is nicer than the non Infinity system, it is still sub par and not much power.

So what Im saying it I highly doubt you are over powering your door speakers with too much power from the crappy Infinity amp (which is behind the glove box BTW).

My first thought is over powering it with too much bass and too much volume which equals distortion and destruction.
