Ran into my first problem. I have some nice 6x9 infinity speakers from another install, and the are too deep for the doors. Arggh.

I had to pull the spacer off the factory 6x9, and add in something from the infinity box to make the new kappa's fit without the cage of the speaker hitting the door. I didn't have any clearance issues with the door panel using that setup.

Thanks.that is exactly what i ended up with. The factory 6x9 had a spacer, and then my Kappa's also had one. Now i just need to get some longer screws. Was not sure if it would all clear, but sounds good that your's did.

i had the same exact problem, except my 03 had no factory spacers. I ended up having to buy jvc 6x9's because they were the only ones shallow enough to fit in the door.

I had very deep Polk Audio's at 3-3/8" that cleared no problems with a small spacer. Those had very large magnets. There's lots of room between the door panel and the speaker to put even a 1/2" spacer.
I removed those and installed 3.5" deep Focals. Even those fit with a 3/8" spacer.

I just put nuts in between the door frame and the new kickers I got, and used longer screws to put thru the nuts.
