Here's a link to the radio that I installed and you can see the spacers I had to use etc etc. Does it sound any better than the RES radio? When I added my stock touch screen it sounded better than the RES radio, then I replaced the door speakers w infiniti reference speakers and it sounds awesome now!

That looks really nice. It sounds like you had to work for that with all the cutting and so forth. Thats what I wanted to avoid:-)
But that does look sweet though

Thanks man, yea I'm digging it...really opened up the speakers too...Yea I had my work cut out for me, but I got the job done lol. I'll tell yah, I went through tons of dremel blades!

I don't have NAV like you do, but I wonder if on the 2009's EVIC if it shows the direction to turn when the NAV unit does since the 2009 EVIC is a little different than the 2010+ models.

Just bought a 2012 Ram 1500 Crew Big Horn and am looking to do the same and maybe a little more. I want to swap out the 130 (no uconnect) for the 430N unit. I really don't have any interest in spending twice the money for NAV. Looks like OEMAUTOPARTSCO is the way to go for that. Looks like I would have to add the Uconnect if I want the bluetooth and ipod functionality, but I think I can skip that.

Did you keep your stock speaker setup? I would like to add an aftermarket sub and amp, and maybe upgrade the existing speakers as well. Anyone have any experience keeping the stock head unit and adding speaker/sub/amp?

Hi, I used the oemautopartsco. Got the 430n for about 500 shiped and it almost seems like the sound is cleaner and louder. Very easy swap , I just use a bluetooth device I got for 30$ and it works great. Save your $ on that. Good luck

Thanks for the post. This helps with my plan to install both radio and cam on my 2012 Ram1500.

So I am doing the same upgrade from the RES to the RHR and am trying to figure out what else I need to order other than the head unit?

I have a Sirius subscription, no steering wheel controls or Uconnect and need to know what else I need to order and do to get this unit to work properly?

Just so you all know instead of upgrading from res to 430n at oem auto parts get instead the 730n. You wont have to purchase the uconnect module and a reflash at the dealership to use voice activation .
A savings of $300-dollars and who knows how much at the dealership. Both units are the same price. All you would need is the mic and the dual antenna for gps and sirrius.

But after much much thought Ive decided not to go at that option instead Im thinking of a pioneer Nav unit http://www.bestbuy.com/site/7-built-...1002&cp=1&lp=5 and a best buy install for $100 bucks.
I know I will need a dash adapter, wire harness, and a steering wheel interface.
It comes with a mic and gps antenna (only sirrius ready)

I will have it installed in my 2013 Grand caravan only if they promise not to do any grinding.

I do wonder if hi/low speed bus has anything to do with anything?

I think I'll come out at about the same price as the refurbished oem auto parts option and WAY cheaper then the dealership option and will have a FLAGSHIP head unit.

2008 Durango SLT with RES. Want to swap out for an RHR 730N.

Does it matter in this case if I get a low speed vs high speed bus?

I think, if I have read all the good stuff correctly, that it is plug-n-play and all I need to add is a GPS antenna and microphone for the UConnect. Is that right? Oops, I would need a camera and Sirius/XM antenna if I wanted those, but I don't.

It's my understanding that the high or low speed bus is important and are not interchangeable. OEMautoparts should be able to tell you what you need.

Thanks, Rob. You're right. I kept digging until I found a chart showing which models require the high and which the low speed bus. It's definitely low speed for my (soon to be my!) '08 Durango.
