Default Infinity Audio -Speakers Question

hey. recently got a 1998 Durango SLT with the infinity amp and 4 speakers. the HU is not the original. but the original amp is still in place and it looks connected to the HU via the multiport plastic plug(?). IOW, it doesnt look like any wiring was altered. all 4 speakers are 6.5" Polk with 4 ohm impedance. the rear speakers put out next to nothing sound-wise, even if i adjust the 'fade' max to the rear. Now, if i connect a pair of Kappa 6 x 9" 2ohm speakers, the volume is superb. i am thinking i will replace those rear Polk speakers with a pair of 6.5" kappa 3 ways. but brfore i spend the money--> can anybody offer up an explanation for why the current Polks are producing minimal volume? especially since the front Polks are fine on the volume??? is there anything i can do to correct this volume level for the current Polk rear speakers? and the speakers in the rear are good...i swapped them to the front and they work fine. i'm kinda confused if that isn't obvious. thanks in advance for any advice.

hi. i think that if the amp was blown then the 6x9's that i tested with would not have produced the volume that they did.

Oh derp. I forgot about that part. Have you tested the old speakers? Maybe they are fried or aren't the right impedance.

update: put in a pair of 2 ohm Infinity Kappa 63.9 3-ways and all is good. the Polk speakers are not damagred in any way that i can tell. just mismatched n that they are 4 ohm impedance...is what i am going to guess.

Shouldnt be that big of an issue. I replaced my 2ohm infinitys with 4 ohm speakers and I have no problems at all.
