Default Installed: double-din in 06 1500 QC

I decided to put a new system in the wife’s 1500 Quad Cab – and here it is.

It originally had the factory 4 speaker system with standard head unit.

I installed the following:
Pioneer AVH-P2400BT (double din)
2 Kicker 10C104s (4 ohm)
MBQuart FX1.400 for subs
Purchased a used MTX Thunderform for under the back seats.
Kenwood 5 ¼ 2-ways in all 4 doors (will run on HU power for now)

(Phase 2 will be adding Kicker 6 ½ to all doors along with baffles and a MBQuart FX4.50 to run them)

More details:
Purchased a new Nav Bezel on line – paid $252 for it!!!
Purchased the following from installer.com
Metra install kit 99-6510
Antenna adapter 40-CR10
Standard wire harness 70-6502

First: removed all seats and center console to make things easy.

I ran a fused 4 gauge power wire from battery through driver-side firewall and under carpet next to center “hump” to the amp, which is installed under the rear seats.

For the “Dimming” lead from the radio, I spliced into a wire that was leading to a small light in the center console (maybe for what was the ashtray?)

Ignition switch wire – this is a problem. All I can find (after searching the entire 100 pin canbus) is a 12V lead that comes on when the key is moved to “start” position. I wanted one that works when the key is in the “accessory” position. Maybe if I had purchased the canbus adapter from Metra, it might have worked.

Nevertheless, sounds fantastic!! Enjoy the pics.

Look good but $252 for the nav bezel? Ouch. You know I've got them starting at $175 right?

Looks like you got some nice gear though. Tell the truth, scale of 1 to 10, how much better than stock? I

Brother, I wish I new about you having the Nav Bezels -- not only doI like to save $$, but I would have rather given it to a member. Besides, I do feel I paid too much.

As for "better than stock..." Considering I only had the standard 4 speaker OEM junk, is 100X better!! Now I want to do something similar in my Charger SRT8.
