The Setup Is Finished~!
Setup:
Dual 10" Kicker Solobaric L5 dual 4ohm
Fiberglass box
1" thick foam on top coverd with black carpet.
Being Pushed by a KX800.2 amp (400 watts RMS per channel @ 2ohms)
well last meet at the hooters i set off a car alarm and everybody commented and said they felt great!
i just need to get the Grills but thats a maby, i had my fat friend sit on the seat and i checked under and it cleared no problem even at full excursion.
i might upgrade to L7s and bump my amp to KX1200.1, (cuz my mom wants me to put a system into my sisters car)

It really doesnt absorb the sound...it's really no different then having subs pushed up against the backs of your seat in a car. However, since his box is fiberglass.....the sound all gets pushed up and out rather then filtering back out thru the trunk and what have you. So to be honest, it sounds better.
That's a really good looking install |3|ackAc|D.... I dont care for the foam/sheet covering you have on the box, but I really do like the install. Very clean and unnoticable, which is great. I had a similar setup in both my Beretta and and my 01 Dakota.....

yah with the seats down it absorves any small lil shakes, but theres really not alot of diffrance between up or down. then again i usualy drive with the windows down doing 80 and the stereo all the way up.

the foam i did it because i wanted a soft feel to it. lol well now the stickers on the rear door windows are usefull again! REPREZENTIN KICKER!!

nothing like advertising to potential thieves as to what brands you have in our ride... also one reason it doesnt matter whether the seat is up or down on it not being any louder is because the interior cab air space is still the same up/or down and theres only so much room for a bass wave to expand without rolling the windows down.
Can you not staple or glue the box material/cover to the bottom of the box so that it doesnt look bunched up around the edges? Or was that planned but didnt have time to do it because you were too excited being that close to done that you didnt care...
