My son paid over $2000 for his system but it was basically a gut and replace job. New head unit, amp, subwoofer and component speakers with crossovers and such. It was a local small sound shop kinda place. Shop around a bit if you can. Personally would not trust best buy. Smaller shops tend to take a little more pride because they are trying to compete with the big places.

Buy the components elsewhere(on line) and then get a price for just the installation. This includes wire and any connections you may need. You will find that none of the local places carry the components that you may want. They carry what they think will sell. Go the the manufactures web site (Kenwood Pioneer etc..) and pick and choose what you like. Then find a good price on line. I haven't bought from any local places since the internet. The local places can't match the price or selection. I'm one who researches and does his homework before i buy anything.
