Default 98 Durango. No dash lights or driving lights after new radio install

I just installed a stereo in my son's 98 Durango and the driving lights and dash lights don't work. I think the dash lights are associated with the orange wire in the harness but I don't know what it needs to be hooked to. Any help is appreciated.

Did you use wiring harnesses or splice into wiring? Have you checked the fuses?

Found blown fuses but I think that happened when trying to figure out dash lights. After replacing fuses, tail lights came back but still no driving lights or dash lights. Would hasve been nice if the aftermarket harness I bought for my radio would have been a wire for wire match.

I'm having the same issue in a 96 ram. I blow the fuse for the dash lights and taillights when I turn on the headlights. Have you resolved the issue?

Start a new thread in the second gen ram section, you'll get more help there.

However, start by having a look at the headlight switch, they are notorious for melting........
