I dunno what you are talking about.. After installing my cap I get no dimming of lights anymore... Have you actually tried one? OR are you going by he said she said? Like I said I got a MA audio 1.0 fared and no dimming at all. So garbage I think not... Like in my case you say oh a cap is just a band-aid. well for my car there is no comany anywheres that makes a more amperage alt. So the only route I can go is with a cap.. And a ground wire kit. It does help say what you gotta say but caps (if you get the right fared for your application) will work...

Yellow Top Optimas are where they're at because they have a higher reserve capacity. Capacitors are band aids, but till there is a solution what are you gonna do. Nick and I are poor college students, so until I learn how to re-wire alternators, he's going to have to live with it. Optimas aren't as good as they're cracked up to be. I used to work at Murray's and we've had so many Optimas come back after a week, after a month and so on. I don't know if they're just lemons or what, but we get a lot of them back in here.

Do the big 3. Run 4 or bigger gauge wire from your alt to positive battery terminal. Then re groound your battery and your alt. If you do wanna do this make sure you fuse the alt to battery positive with about a 125 amp fuse. Sometimes it stops the dimming sometimes it doesnt, but if you end up having to get a h.o. alt your gona need to run bigger wire anyway. o ya DONT GET A CAP.
