Rockford is way better than Sony, sony amps arent that great really... I have been into car audio for years Unless it were an ES model they are really crap... It might be rated more "max" output but amps have no "max" they have an RMS rating...amps that are rated by "max" usually mean they are crap lol

sony really went down hill in the past years...back when they had the hx model amps they were good...then after that they went bad.. i used to have 3 sony amps in my neon running 2 sony 12's and 2 orion 12's with a sony cd player...i wasnt impressed with the sonys, but the orions were bad ***...then it all was stolen..next i went to 2 orion extreme 500 watt amps and a 2400 watt audiobahn running 4 audiobahn 12's..and that was the best stereo i ever owned..but i wanted a change after a while...now i have a 1500 watt pheonix gold amp running 2 kicker solo-barics in my durango...its pretty good but i liked the audiobahn better.....a friend of mine has 3 ony mobil es 12's( the silver ones with the aluminum heat sink in the middle that are almost impossible to find) im gonna get those soon and put in the neon..he doesnt need them because he just bought an alpine amp and a 12 inch alpine type x.....
