Default Trouble with hooking up new Headunit

All right guys, I would like to know if someone can walk me through hooking up an Alpine headunit. The only reason I need help is because I have the infinity stereo system in my truck. I know how to do everything except make the speakers work after I plug in my harness. I heard that you just have to run a remote wire to the stock amp, but I can't get to the amp. I know where it's at, and I can see it, but I can't actually access it. It looks as if I have to remove the entire bottom of the dash, but I wanted to be sure before I did that. I do not want to break anything, or do anything I don't have to do. So I just need someone to tell me how to get the amp out, step by step, and where to hook up my remote wire. Unless it is done a different way, then I need to know that other way. I hooked up my alpine to the stock harness already and have plugged in the antenna, but I get no sound at all. I have power and everything so I know it all works... I just heard the reason I have no sound is because of that amp. Someone please help me, I've been posting on other forums and not getting any help. Thank you in advance -Art-

Oh, by the way, I do not want to upgrade my speakers or speaker amp at the moment. I plan on doing this, but it won't be for a while. I just don't have the money right this moment, and I just want my alpine headunit back (it was in my old truck). I know they suck (i've looked at them) and I will replace all the speakers and amp them myself, just not now.

2002 dodge ram quad cab slt plus, infinity system or whatever you'd like to call it. 3 tweets on the dash and a speaker in each door. Total of 7 even though crutchfield claims 11... and if there is 11, I have not found the others... umm... yup.

They way I understand it from this http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/DCP-Wiring.pdf you jst have to hook up the remote turn on lead to the white factory wire.

All right, seems simple enough, I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I get home from work and then I'll post again. Thank you so much.

Umm... I looked at the diagram and tried to figure it out, but I just don't see where it actually is, like which wire. Could someone try to explain to me what I have to do? Sorry I just don't want to like cut a wire that I don't have to, or jam something in the wrong hole and screw everything up. I don't mean to be a pain. if someone could like give me step by step instructions on how to go about it all, that would be greatly obliged. Sorry, and thanks.

I have seen ppl say the factory amp turn-on wire is light green and I have also seen ppl say it is white. I would suggest looking on your factory wiring harness and trying to find either one of those colors. What everone you find you will then connect it to the white and blue wire on your alpine cd player. I have never installed anything in the new ram's with the inifity system so I am going by wat others and manuals say, so I hope this works out.

All right, I know I'm being a royal pain in the @$$ but I'm sorry. I looked at the wires and this is what I have to work with. I compared the stock harness to the diagram on top of my stock headunit and the ones that I have to work with (which means they aren't any of the speakers or ground wires. I have, 2 pink wires which were labeled battery/battery. I have a brown wire with a red stripe that is labeled ACC. I have an orange wire with a blue stripe labeled PWD, a green wire with a red stripe labeld Radio on out. and a purple wire with a milky bluish/light light light purple stripe labeled J1850. So one of these has got to be the wire I have to cut and attach my remote wire to. All of the others were labeled rf + rf - and so on and so forth with the exception of 2 wires labeld GND (which I assumed are the ground wires). So, can you please tell me which one of those wires that I need to use. Keep in mind these are all attached in the stock harness that run into the stock headunit.
