Default Looking for new sound system for the quad cab.

i am looking to buy a new sound system for the 2004 quad cab, replacing the factory system. not looking for a "pimp my ride" system, just something that is good quality at an affordable price. there is a best buy and circuit city close by, so if you have installed something like this recently, i would appreciate the comments. also, any tips for an easier installation would be helpful! thanks!

Yes, there are many variables in a sound system. I guess I should ask the question differently. Has anyone bought a quality system recently that was easier to install than others.........between 200-400$????? Thanks!

An entire system for 200-400 will be very small/low quality. I suggest getting a new head unit and speakers. After a while get a sub and amp....and box.....and wiring.

Ok, you gave a price range, that helps a lot. I have had both kenwood and pioneer head units over the years and have been very happy with them although I prefer the kenwoods. You can get a decent head unit for $200 and 6x9's for about $100-$120 and 5 1/4's for about $60-$80. Kenwood and pioneer make some good speakers. I prefer boston acoustics.... Your best bet is to go to some of the electronics stores and listen to them for yourself and see which produces the sound you like the most then come home and find them on ebay. I just picked up a $450 subwoofer for $137 shipped.

yeah. because if he really does want thump and clarity, he needs a good enclosure, preferably fiberglass. but that is starting at 500-600$. But it will be hard to find sub/amp combo AND wiring and materials for under 400... start saving up your change pal. quit eating out at the taco shop and put that money in a safe till you get 600+
