oooo..well jst find the mounting depth of the box and then look at the mounting depth of the sub. Let me re-phrase what I said in my above post. If youe sub has a vented pole peice you need to have an inch between the sub and the box wall. If not, then dont worry about it. Ya the boxes on ebay arent built as good as boxes made by installers or yourself, but as long as its close to the sealed specs of the sub you will be ok.

the type e's are nice. they will be very loud. get the right amp (500rms) so then the 4 hom drops to 2 ohm and you get the (about) 250 rms on them. that would be great! check these out:

The last one is not available on crutchfield. but you can probably find it somehwere else.

thats the thing...i dont know what i want. I have no clue about sound systems. All i know is that i want good sounding bass. I want music to sound good in the car and out the car. I was looking at spending no more than 600-700 for everything. I want 2 subs, and amp, a head unit, and possibly speakers. I also need a custom box that will fit the subs for underneath my back seats. I was looking at the enclosure that they sell on EBAY specifically for the DODGE RAM. I was hoping to go with Alpine Type R's to fit in the sub box. However, i went to the local shop and the guy told me that the Type R's are too big for the back seats. He says they will fit but they wont sound good because there is not enough air space between the seat and the subs. This entire set up is going mostly towards rap and hip hop, but i dont want to play it SUPER LOUD like most people do.

Personally I don't think you'll have enough airspace IN the box to make them sound decent. Maybe if you had one in the box and used the rest of the box as airspace. But 2 subs under the seat?... I don't think they'll like to play low enough for rap. If anything make sure you use some poly-fill.

ok so i've talked to nurmerous car aduio retailers (local of course) and this is the set up they gave me.
-Alpine 9856 (IPOD ready and Sirius/XM ready)
-JL Audio 10w1 or 10w3 (a set of 2 of course because i was looking to install 2 subs in the truck)
-Alpine MRPM450 Amp
-Custom MDF Box

Speakers are of no concern but would not mind to have them ar a fair price.

How does this sound to you guys...?
