ok so i have power to my deck (a sony cdx-L410X) but now the problem is that the display won't show and it won't play any cd. what might the problem be now? This is maddening!!!

 

So does the unit play radio stations? As far as the display idk...as long as the unit has power and the face plate is secured to the unit it should work...

 

i tried a cd and nothing it'll take a cd in and out but no display,I haven't tried a radio station yet because i have wires everywhere just trying to get it to work, and the antenna power is really short so i'd have to put the deck in to try it. I should have the display working regardless though right?

It should be working....look and make sure the faceplate connections are clean. You dont have to hook up the power ant. wire...as you dont have a power ant. It seems like the unit has some issues.

the first image is of the wiring harness that i got from walmart so i could just plug into the factory harness.

If your truck uses the two seperate connectors for the connection to the factory harness then cut the single connector off. Splice the same color wires together and thats it.

 

i already did that before but it is just the connections for the speaker wires. Is there another harness in my truck that i don't know about? I'll post a pic of the harness that's in my truck tomorrow.
