Default 2006 Stereo Setup

Hey you guys/gals! I'm driving a 2006 Dodge Ram 4x4 QuadCab BigHorn Edition... and im wanting to upgrade the factory h/u and speakers... any suggestions on what would fit/sound the best? I have the sub box for under my back seat and will be running two Kicker Solo-Baric 8L7 with a Lanzar Opti-Drive SL800D amp... From the factory it is a 4 speaker setup but im interested in upgrading to a 6 or 8 speaker setup if at all possible... any suggestions or photos from your custom install would be great! thanks a lot!!!

You're putting 2 L7's under the seat??!! Have you measured? I may be wrong, but I don't believe L7's will fit under the rear seat. You'll need at least like 9" for clearance. That's a lot of room.

EDIT: Just saw you said 8L7's. I had 12's stuck in my head for some reason. Still... Maybe, but you'll still need 7" or so. That's still a lot of room. i didn't think there was that much clearance under the seat.

The S8L7 require 1 cubic ft of air space and thats exactly what i have under each seat... mayb be squeezing it just a little bit but we'll see later on i guess on what it sounds like... but as far as getting S12L7 under the seat LMAO[:-] i dont think thats possible without doing your own custom cutting into the interior...

Answering the questioin about the Opti amp... its an older one... have two of them if im not mistaken i think its what people use in competitions as "cheater amps" from what research i've seen they produce much more power than what's rated... and i may be wrong BUT maybe you know beings your asking about it lol am i right or wrong?? in my old truck i used to compete using four S8L7 and those two Opti amps... in a huge ported box much louder than any other setup ive heard in a S-10.... either of you have a suggestion about using the stepdown offa my factory h/u?

If its older its a zed audio amp. ..and will put out more power than it says for sure. Great amps! If your talking out a loc, I mean they work. I would upgrade my headunit, but if you dont want to the loc will work fine.

You may have 1 cu. ft., but you have to take into account sub displacement. I don't think you'll have enough room, but... who knows.

O.K. sorry.. I checked it out. The sub only displaces .035 Cu.Ft. (Basically nothing at all) Min to max rec. sealed enclosure is .33 - .75 Cu.Ft. So If you really do have 1 cube under each seat you should be ok. Guess I thought it took up more space. Good luck!
