Go with Alpine type "E" or Alpine Type "R" if you have the money. The type r's will rattle your truck to peices. The Type e's sound good thats what i have, one type r hits harder then 2x type e's... put it that way. But each type r is like 225 or 250 i think. Type E's only 130-150, and you need less power to push them, the r's take 1x 600wat 500rms amp each, and 1 cap each. So you will need 2x caps, 2x amps.. cost alot but you could blow some people away i tell you that.

One of out installers has 2x type r in his S10 and you could flip cell phones on his roof it was reflaxing that much. Till he dynomated it.. now its just impossible to sit in with the windows up.. lol..

You can get type r's for like 125 on the net......but I think the kicker's would be your best bet as they are good priced, have good power handling, not terribly deep mounting depth and kicker usually has solid products...not that alpine doesnt....Were you wanting amp rec. also?

I agree. The VR's are great subs. So are the Alpine's but I think the Type R's are a little overkill, and I just don't like the E's

i have 2 type E alpine 12" and love it. i didn't choose kicker because i didn't want to use a super high powerd amp with my setup...
i'll be upgrading my Es to Rs soon so i can enjoy the "Overkill" lol
