i need help installing new stereo in '04 caravan
i'm installing an aftermarket radio in my friends '04 caravan, and have everything hooked up and working fine, everything with the radio is fine, the only problem is the dashboard/ cluster lights won't turn on now, and i looked into it and saw theres a orange/tan wire that was plugged into the old radio i took out, and its not hooked up to anything now, and I believe it has something to do with the lights, does anybody know what i am supposed to do with this wire? or does anybody know of another solution of why the lights won't turn on.. i've checked the fuses and it doesn't seem to be the problem, there is also a white wire that was originally connected to the old radio, which isn't connected to anything now, and i dont know where it goes, or if it even needed ( i looked around on, and i think its the PCI bus).. please let me know anything you can! thanks alot!
heres the wiring diagram i've been looking at:

and i didn't use a wiring harness, i just spliced the wires and connected them that way

hey, thanks for the reply, i went and looked at the harness for that type, and even if i went that route, the harness still has a wire coming off it for the dashboard lights, and i still wouldnt know what to do with it, so i'd be in the same position
hey, thanks alot for the advice, i finally got everything working tonight, it just took a little bit of trial and error.. and yea it turned out the orange/tan wire had to be hooked up to the 12v and also needed to be grounded seperatly.. again thanks!
