If you bypassed the amp and have the wires directly to the speaker output of the headunit it should have sound....if it doesnt them something must be wrong with the unit...but I really doubt thats it.

ok i plugged the radio and and before running them into the doors i "tested" them on the outside of the dash and just ran wires from the back of the radio to the speakers and nothing happend. but i know for a fact that nothing is wrong with this unit, it was working fine in my buddies car which is pushing lord knows how much it is a civic though. it is getting on my last nerve so ima go up to the local audio place on monday and see what they have to say cause they said it would be a breeze... but don't they all?....

That truck IS a breeze though. If you have the headunit directly connected to some speaker sitting on the dash/bench/whatever and the radio is powered up, and still no sound, then something has to be wrong with either the speakers you're using at te time or the radio.

Check all these before you let a audio shop bend you over and stick it in...

EQ settings on the deck
+/- are correct
Antanna is pluged in to the deck unless your using a cd...
Fuses on back of deck some have 2 one for power one for speakers kinda like amps
Make sure the speakers isnt blown or stuck.. try all the speakers.
and last if none of that works take it to a shop.. useally i can find out most things wrong with my **** if you just play with it and not get upset about it. Sometimes is stupid **** and you laugh about it... i do it all the time.. like the antanna thing lol.. Good luck.

hey guys thanks for the replies but i was look at it and the outputs on the radio went bad. it is an eclipse radio so ya dunno what was up. they are boston speakers and i checked them with a drill battery and they were good. and then we plugged up the radio and we got power but then we noticed that even with everything adjusted right that it still wouldn't put out any sound. and if you know eclipse radio, you know that they are made to push top dollar systems the RCA's on this thing are crazy. but ya the outputs are bad and well ima get it fixed and i will give yall feedback on the system. another question though, do you think that the Dodge dealership will trade me that bench back seat that folds up for another bucket, cause im going to get a box built between the two bucket seats..........?

If you have the tweeters mounted on the posts, then you have the infinity speakers with built in amps on the speakers. If this is so, then you have to eliminate the speaker amp wiring. Usually the amp is behind the air bag on the passenger side. But if you install you new HU and plug the wiring harness modulesint he HU and open the driver's door panel, you will see about 20 wires going to the door speaker. This is where all the sound/power is being brought to the speakers from the amp and the HU. Wire a gound from your (-)speaker to a ground and touch each wire from the door to the speaker until you get sound. Two sets of rca will go from the Hu to the amp for power. The rear speakers do not have built in amps, so you will remove the existing rubber grommet from the doors and fish new wire into the new speakers and bring directly to the second channel of the amp so you adjust front and rear separately with high or low bypass. Hope this helps.

I dont kno but you could check around on ebay and stuff if they dont and probably get them at a good deal. I agree with the placement of the box between the two seats that would probably be nice. When you get it working post on and let us kno how it sounds.
