I didn't have to remove anything, just make sure the ashtray and drink holder are open. One screw behind the little hook thing, a coupla firm tugs and pop goes the weasel. Hell, I didn't even disconnect the wires, just let it set down a little and pulled the 4 bolts.

I did the same thing when I had my o4 ram. The only thing is to check your antenna wire.I had to get an adaptor so that it would work in my aftermarket radio. And of course the wiring harness..

Same thing. If you download the 03 manual from www.hemitruckclub.com it'll tell you in great detail.

Any advice on removing the OEM radio from a 2008 Ram 1550 (laramie)? Allegedly this radio is "satellite radio ready" and by all acount (according XM/Sirius) there shoudl be a "mini-tuner" with an accompanying "SIMM" typer card. BY removing and rei-nstalling this card, my radio should be able to get tuned to channel 1, allowing it to receive a re-activation signal from XM/Sirius radio.
I am having a difficult time accessing the radio. How to I removing the face plate on the dash to access the radio? Are the screws under the center concole cup holders? Or elsewhere? Do I need any special tools remove any of the panels? Thanks
