Default Which Speakers?

Which speakers would you recommend me putting in my truck? I need two 6X9's and two 6 1/2's. I already have a Rockford Fosgate 10' P2 and an amp. I also have a Pioneer 6900 ordered. Now all that's left is the four speakers. I've been looking into Pioneer's, but I wanted to see what you guys have to say.

The rears are 5 1/4. Pioneer are fine....rockford,infinity,polk,diamond audio, memphis, jbl are all good compaines to look into...there are tons and tons more. Listening to as many as you can is really your best bet on whitch set is the best for you.

Do you have any sort of budget in mind?

Will there be an amp on them?

I really like the set of MB Quartz i have (QSC-216), are you looking for a component set or co-ax?

You can fit a 6 1/2 in where a 5 1/4 was can't you? (I may have just made myself look like a complete dumbass.)

As far as my budget goes, I don't mind spending money as long as the equipment is high quality. I have had bad experiences in the past with cheap equipment and I'm tired of it. I want something to be proud of. As far as running the speakers to an amp, I'm not sure yet.

i'm also working on this and can tell you this....
if you don't have one, get a panel removal tool for popping off the door panel. ~$10 at local auto parts. its worth every penny. it also will help prevent you from breaking your door panel. just be sure and slide it in deep enough so the notch full seats around the clip. that way you are pulling on the clip, and not your expensive door panel.

the fronts are 6x9, with factory mounting depth of about 2 1/2 in. you can squeeze in a 2 3/4 before it hits the window track. you can squeeze in a 3 depth if you shim the speaker out another 1/4. next, watch out for the protrusion/extension of the mount. factory extends out 1/2. you can fit in about 3/4. after that the door panel begins to bulge out. i'm not sure the exact max you can go here yet, but 3/4 is ok and you might fit 1" if the speaker has a grill to protect it, as you are now rubbing on the door panel.

what i did was remove the passenger side and measure everything. i'm wanting to install a rockford p1694C which has a 3" depth, and i don't yet know the top height. i added a 1/2 piece of plywood onto the magnet of the factory speaker to make a mockup, and then with all panel clips removed, installed it back in to test the fit. it looks ok, but i'm headed back to the store to check the height before i buy the speakers.

the rears are 5 1/4. i've heard you can mount 6 1/2, but don't know anything about it. i would recommend you remove the panels, measure, check, etc. maybe get an old 6 1/2 and try a mock up.

[blockquote] NOT COMPLETELY TRUE.. note. everything i've checked so far indicates PIONEER 6x9 won't fit because the tweeter cone extends well beyond the front of the frame. i could be wrong, but check the dimensions at pioneerelectronics.com. they have a very very good site with all dimensions. rockford's web site info sucks, no dimensions.
[/blockquote]CORRECTION.. see below.

NOTE the tool for the removal of the clip on the window crank. piece of stiff wire with a hook bent on the end. CAREFUL don't yank it off outside in the grass and dirt, it will pop off like a jesus clip, as in, jesus - where'd it go.
